We are getting very close to two important events taking place next month. The JCK Show in Las Vegas on June 6 – 9 is the most important annual jewelry exhibition in the United States. As their website says, “This is where access to the future of jewelry lives,” and many members of the WFDB bourses will be there.
This year the WFDB will have its own booth, together with Get-Diamonds, our relaunched online trading platform. Kalpesh Jhaveri, President of the Diamond Club West Coast, will be on hand to provide information about the work of the WFDB, and to promote networking among WFDB members.
Just a few days later the WFDB will open its Presidents’ Meeting 2025 in the Big Apple, hosted by the Diamond Dealers Club of New York. The meeting will take place on June 10 – 11 and will feature talks and panel discussions about the most important issues currently facing the world diamond industry. Among the special guests we are expecting are U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Angolan Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Gas Hon. Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, De Beers VP of Trading Paul Rowley, Kimberley Process Chairman Ahmed Bin Sulayem, CIBJO President Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri. We will also have high ranking delegations from Gabon and Rwanda.
The meeting will include panels on Natural vs Lab Grown Diamonds, Import Restrictions and Trade Challenges, Raising the Desirability of Diamonds, the Importance of Diamond Traceability and the Future of the Diamond Industry. Among the panelists will be WDC President Feriel Zerouki, IDMA President Ronnie Vanderlinden, JVC President Sara Yood, IGI North American Head Tiffany Stevens, NDC CEO David Kellie, Ben Bridge President Lisa Bridge, GIA EVP Tom Moses, GCAL CEO Angelo Palmieri and more.
