The World Diamond Mark Foundation (WDMF) held its first, and very successful, generic diamond promotion campaign in the United Arab Emirates last month, during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

Solid Start to 2015 – and Valentine’s Day Sales Seen as Firm

The American economy in general, and the retail sector in particular, has entered 2015 in a fairly buoyant state of mind. There appears to have been a reasonable holiday sales performance and gas prices, which fell sharply in the last months of 2014, and have stayed at the same level in the first two months of this year and predicted to stay low through at least the first half of 2015, has put extra money into consumers' pockets. As a result, for retailers, the New Year got off to a solid start.

Good morning everyone and may I say what a pleasure it is to be at the Israel Diamond Exchange once again.
I am delighted to see the huge turnout for this latest edition of the International Diamond Week.

Panama’s President, Government and world diamond and jewelry leadership celebrate launch of Latin America’s first dedicated gem and jewelry trading center

Ricardo Martinelli, President of the Republic of Panama, senior ministers and officials in the country’s government, the leadership of the world diamond and jewelry industry, and 200 members of the trade from Latin America and internationally have gathered together in Panama City to celebrate the launch of the Panama Gem & Jewelry Center, which will be the first designated trading center for the diamond, colored gemstone and jewelry trades in a region that includes South and Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. At its center will be the Panama Diamond Exchange.
