ALROSA's sales of rough and polished diamonds reach $264.4 million in October

In October 2019, ALROSA Group sold $264.4 million worth of rough and polished diamonds. Rough diamond sales by value amounted to $253.9 million, polished diamond sales - $10.4 million.

ALROSA's total rough and polished diamond sales in January-October 2019 amounted to $2,686.6 million. During the nine months of 2019, rough diamonds were sold for $2,639.4 million, polished diamonds - for $47.2 million.

The Israel Diamond Exchange is Gearing Up for an Exciting IDWI 2020

Ramat Gan, Israel, November 6, 2019: The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) is gearing up for a very exciting International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI), to be held from February 10 – 12, 2020.  The annual event is held on IDE’s immense trading floor and attracts hundreds of international buyers from over 20 countries.

The 2020 IDWI will be themed “I Love Natural Diamonds”, in keeping with IDE’s video campaign produced in cooperation with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses. The event will feature a series of TED-like talks that will address the timeliest issues of interest to the global diamond industry, such as marketing to millennials and the role of Instagram “influencers” in diamond demand.

SSEF’s Automated Synthetic Diamond Screener Achieves Total Accuracy in DPA’s ASSURE Program

The Automated Spectral Diamond Inspection (ASDI) device, an automated small synthetic diamond screener that was first released in 2014 by the Swiss Gemmological Institute SSEF, has been evaluated by the ASSURE Program of the Diamond Producers Association (DPA) and proved to be one the few instruments to have successfully passed 100% of the tests administered.

This week, the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York, in conjunction with the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), hosted over 50 exhibitors and several hundred buyers at its tenth India Diamond Week on the DDC’s state-of-the-art trading floor at the International Gem Tower in Manhattan. Mountain Province Diamonds Announces Q3 Production and Sale Results

Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. has announced production and sales results for the third quarter ended September 30 from the Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine.

The miner reported 1,528,494 carats recovered at an average grade of 1.72 carats per tonne, 16% lower than comparable quarter (Q3 2018: 1,819,000 carats at 2.40 carats per tonne), and 12% lower than the previous quarter (Q2 2019: 1,730,147 carats at 1.96 carats per tonne).

ALROSA's Supervisory Board Approves Acquisition of Smolensk-Based Kristall

At its meeting on September 24, the ALROSA Supervisory Board approved the acquisition of a 100% stake in Joint-Stock Company "Production Corporation "Kristall" from the Russian Federation represented by the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) on the terms set forth in the decree of the Russian Government.
