DES
The Diamond Exchange of Singapore (DES) was established in 1976 by a group of visionary diamantaires who, in those early days, recognized the need to represent, promote and protect the integrity of the diamond trade in Singapore. In 1980, the DES was the first Asian bourse to be granted full membership to the World Federation of Diamond Bourses.
Today, DES comprises close to 50 individual trading members and it aims to serve as the standard bearer, consolidated voice, promoter and facilitator of the diamond and jewellery industry in Singapore.
With issues that emerge such as conflict diamonds, various types of artificial enhancements and lab-grown diamonds, the obligation towards ethical trade, disclosure and transparency becomes even more imperative.
The DES through its members brings to the Singapore diamond jewellery consumer uncompromising assurance, confidence and trust.
