Borsa Istanbul

Borsa İstanbul was established on 3 April 2013 with the merger of İstanbul Stock Exchange (established at 1985), İstanbul Gold Exchange (established 1995) and Futures and Options Exchange (established 2005) into a single institution. This merger aimed to provide Türkiye’s financial markets with a more effective and integrated structure. Borsa İstanbul strengthened its technological infrastructure in co-operation with NASDAQ and unified all transactions on a single platform by switching to the BISTECH system. On the other hand, the interconnection of central clearing, settlement and central securities depository institutions through technological infrastructure and their operation in the same premises in terms of location is an important step towards vertical consolidation in our capital markets.  Today, Borsa İstanbul trades on four main markets: Equity Market, Debt Securities Market, Futures and Options Market and Precious Metals and Diamond Market.
