Next week, on the occasion of the International Diamond Week in Israel (February 14-18), the Israel Diamond Exchange will be holding a diamond marketing panel discussion with the participation of Jean Marc Lieberherr, representing the Diamond Producers Association (DPA); myself as Chairman of the World Diamond Mark Foundation (WDM); Jeweller to the Stars, Stephen Webster; and Patricia Syvrud, Executive Director of the World Diamond Council.

Planning The Next Three Years Ahead For WDM

The five-person WDM team met in Vicenza during the VicenzaOro January show for a strategy workshop aimed at agreeing a three-year marketing plan and budget. The meeting was made possible with help of Fiera di Vicenza with whom WDM signed a cooperation MoU last September.

AWDC Helping Belgian Diamantaires' AML Requirements With Database

Belgian anti-money laundering legislation requires diamond traders to identify their clients, verify their identity and conduct a risk analysis before proceeding to a transaction. AWDC, the umbrella organization of the Antwerp diamond industry, is therefore making a free database available to diamond traders to simplify this identification process.

London Diamond Bourse Announces New Membership Category

The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) launched a new membership category at the Jewellery & Watch Birmingham trade fair.

The development of the Country Membership category is aimed nationwide at diamond and jewelry industry professionals who would like a formal relationship with the LDB but do not need the full range of services that current membership packages entail.

Shmuel Schnitzer Elected as Chairman of Israel Diamond Institute

WFDB Honorary President Shmuel Schnitzer has been elected as Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), replacing Moti Ganz who served three consecutive terms as IDI Chairman.

Schnitzer recently completed his fourth term as President of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) from 2013 to 2015. He previously served as President of the Israel Diamond Exchange from 1998 to 2004 and is Honorary President of the exchange.
