Antwerp, June 9, 2009 - The World Federation of Diamond Bourses issued a statement in which it welcomes the initiative of the Armenian government to establish a diamond and jewellery exchange in Armenia. The federation's statement came in the wake of an announcement made by Gagik Kocharyan, head of the trade and market efficiency department of the Armenian Ministry of Economy during a press conference held last week.

WFDB mourns the tragic death of Louis Selekane

Antwerp, May 28, 2009 - The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) issued a statement today, mourning the tragic death of Louis Selekane, the Chief Executive Officer of the South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator, who was killed earlier this week in a car accident in his native South Africa. The South African Press Assocation (SAPA) reported  Selekane's car was crossing an intersection when it was hit by another vehicle that failed to heed a stop sign.

WFDB calls on bourse members not to trade in diamonds from Marange deposit in Zimbabwe
