Born in 1941, Ed L. Blik is a fourth generation diamantaire. After graduating from Nyenrode University he joined the family business. Since 1983, he has served as president of the Vereniging Beurs voor den Diamanthandel, which is the oldest diamond bourse in the world, having been established in 1890.

Mr. Blik is a member of the Trade and Promotion Committee as well as the International Arbitration Board of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses.

In the Netherlands, Mr. Blik dedicated himself to the promotion of diamonds to jewellers as well as consumers in the Dutch Diamond Committee. After De Beers decided to close the Dutch office of the Diamond Information and Promotion Centre, he was one of the initiators in 1995 for the formation of a new information centre for diamonds, gemstones and jewellery.

He was one of the founders of the Diamond College, the Dutch Arbitration Board charged with solving disputes between consumers and the trade.

Apart from trading in polished diamonds, Mr. Blik is involved in the antique and period jewellery market.
